Chernobyl's grounds echo trauma. The site itself, I am told by a Ukrainian friend, is something avoided at all costs by Ukrainians.

I ask her if she wants to join or if she's ever been. She says: 'Why would we visit something that can only remind us of death'. However, for something that breaths an unforgotten past, the greens of its forest come in hues I've seen nowhere else.
