As a memory, Calgary consists of oil money and bright suns, faux cowboys and startling sunsets. It is a rich city that doesn't take itself too seriously.

It is the most American of Canadian cities.

As a province, Alberta is one filled with natural wonders and empty fields, drained faces and crowded roads.
